The Story

Meet Dr. Joshua Scott

Rev. Dr. Joshua Scott, a native of Atlanta, committed his life to Christ at age seven and answered his call to ministry at 25. He has served students and churches in Atlanta and Charlotte since 2010 and now leads Unique Church as founding pastor. Joshua holds multiple degrees, including a Ph.D. in Preaching, a Doctor of Ministry in Emerging Generations, and a Ph.D. in Leadership, reflecting his passion for equipping every generation to know and love God. Married to his true love, Lauren, since 2017, Joshua enjoys running, movies, and red velvet cake—and lives by Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Why I Lead

My mission is to preach and teach God’s Word with passion and clarity, equipping every generation to know and love Christ. With advanced degrees in preaching, emerging generations, and leadership, I am committed to raising up disciples and leaders who reflect God’s kingdom in their communities. I believe in building a church that embraces racial reconciliation, authenticity, and freedom from the masks we often wear in church and in life. Through Unique Church and Turn the World, I seek to empower people to live out their purpose and impact the world for Jesus.

I have a deep commitment to racial reconciliation and building bridges within the church. I believe the church should be a model of unity in Christ that celebrates diversity.

Empowering Others

I believe in equipping people to lead and serve in their God-given purpose. My heart is to raise up leaders who will impact their communities for Christ.
